River Valley Baroque presents an evening of Jewish sacred choral music spanning four centuries in the soaring acoustics of Basilica Hudson.Performed by a professional vocal & instrumental ensemble, and featuring works by Salamone Rossi, Felix Mendelssohn, Louis Lewandowski, Emanuel Kirshner, and Max Janowski, the program explores a rich musical tradition, with themes of compassion, resilience, and hope that continue to resonate today.The program culminates with Leonard Bernstein's iconic Chichester Psalms, presented in its rarely performed chamber orchestration. This intimate version brings new clarity to one of the twentieth century's most beloved choral masterworks.

Founded in 2025 by New Yorker Hannah Milnes, River Valley Baroque is committed to sharing the richness of Baroque music with communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Catskills.Through historically informed performances on period instruments, we strive to recreate the expressive power and authenticity of this timeless repertoire.
